Frequently Asked Questions:

How can I access course notes online?

Step 1

Get approved by a DSPS counselor for notetaking as an accommodation before logging in.

Step 2

You must indicate that you require a notetaker for each course that you would like to receive notes for. Click on the 'Courses / Notes' link in the main menu, then click on 'No - change this' beside each course for which you require a note-taker.

Step 3

If a notetaker is available for a course you will see a button called 'select a notetaker' in the 'Notetaker availability' column of your course list. Click on the button to view the list of available notetakers. You are able to browse sample notes that each notetaker has uploaded in order to help you make your decision.

Step 4

Once you have selected a notetaker, you are able to download the notes that have been uploaded by your notetaker. Click on the 'Notes' button beside the course you wish to download notes for.

What should I do if a notetaker is not available for my course?

If you mark a class "yes" under the require a notetaker section and the course shows that "none are available at this time", an email will automatically be sent to your instructor informing them that a notetaker is needed for the course. The instructor should then make a general announcement to the class asking for a volunteer notetaker. If a notetaker does not volunteer one week after the announcement is made, please notify the DSPS office at 714-895-8721 to receive assistance.
